Crumpled Hoops

Regular price £160.00 Taxes included.Shipping calculated at checkout.
Color: Recycled Sterling Silver
Description

Chunky and irregular, these hoops are abstract sculptures like madly folded origami, concept maquettes or fragments shaped from some previous use.

Inspired by accidentally flattened metal, these hoops are as eye catching as they are comfortable. They’re made from sheets of recycled sterling silver artfully folded and crumpled into asymmetric, but complimentary hoops.

They come in shiny recycled sterling silver or a brushed brass that has a soft matt look.

They're also super light and comfy and easy to wear everyday.

Eco Packaging

Our packaging is made from recycled, vegan, and reusable materials. Our largest packaging supplier is TINY BOX COMPANY, who are award winning packaging specialists dedicated to sustainable practices. We use paper inserts, stickers and tape, cotton bags, paper boxes and our foam inserts are made from recycled materials. We give you cotton storage bags that you can keep and that will last. We take eco packaging as seriously as we do our pieces.

Care

Your jewellery should be kept in a dry, fabric-lined box and kept out of direct sunlight. Take care to put on your jewellery last so that you aren't exposing it to things like hairspray, cologne, perfume, and makeup, which can all tarnish and damage this metal. To clean your pieces, mix lukewarm water with a mild detergent, clean with a soft bristled brush, rinse and dry thoroughly and finally polish with a polishing cloth. We provide a polishing cloth with every purchase.

Brass and bronze jewellery will last a lifetime, but will take on a natural patina, which is one of the things we love about these materials. We lacquer each piece once made, but over time that top coat can wear away. You may also want to bring your pieces up to their highest luster, which you can do over and over across the life of your piece. To do this, you can use a wire brush to take away any patina and then seal again with Renaissance Wax, a product used by the conservation team at the V&A.

Ring Sizing

The simplest way to work out your ring size is to measure a ring you already own for a ring that will go on the same finger (note that fingers on different hands can be different sizes).

To do this you just take a ruler and measure straight across the inside of the ring from inside edge to edge. Take the diameter measurement in inches or mm, and then use our measurement-conversion chart to find your ring size.

If you don't have a ring of the same size:

  1. Take a piece of string or paper and rap it around the base of the finger to measure.
  2. Use a pen to mark the point on the string or paper where it overlaps.
  3. Take a ruler and measure the length of the string or paper from the starting end, to the end you marked with the pen.
  4. Use this measurement and compare it against the chart below to determine your ring size.
